Eneidi Rodriguez
Eneidi Rodriguez was born on January 22, 2000. She was a healthy 10lb 2oz. baby girl. At three months, her mother, Wanda, started noticing that she was not developing as she should. Wanda noticed that Eneidi had no control of her head or body and decided to take her to CHKD’s neurology clinic in Norfolk. The nurses and doctors at CHKD ran every test possible and could not find anything to explain Eneidi’s development issues. At six months, Eneidi started having “jumping movements”. After several more tests and an EEG at CHKD’s neurology clinic, doctors learned that Eneidi was having seizures. Since then Eneidi has been on several medications to manage the seizures, but many other health problems arose. She developed asthma and began to loose her motor skills, such as eating. Eneidi was finally diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. Now, 9 years old, Eneidi is in a wheelchair and requires a special breathing machine throughout most of the day. Her mother Wanda was quoted saying, “I honestly believe that if it was not for all of the specialists at CHKD I would have lost my little girl a long time ago”.
Eneidi has a life-long battle in front of her. The dollars raised will go directly to CHKD to help them provide the best possible care to Eneidi and kids like her.
