This class is normally a Progressive Series, but for a limited time will be offered as a Drop-in Class.

So now that you know the basic fundamentals of dancing salsa, what’s next? Let’s see if we can move your skill level up a notch with our next progressive series course in New York Salsa On2.

These classes will include:

Review of Salsa On2 level 100
Hammerlocks
Basic Body Wraps
Shoulder Checks
Additional Footwork

Are you ready for this course?

This course is designed for those who already have been taught the basics fundamental, steps & turns, in salsa dancing (New York On2 style).

Students should be proficient in technique for the forward, backward and side steps, cross-body lead along with left and right turns. All of these techniques are taught in our Salsa (100) progressive series.

If you are up to speed on these techniques, then we encourage you to take this Salsa (101) course to continue building your skills.

If you are unsure your skill level, please talk with the instructor to be evaluated and find out what course would be best for you.

What is a Drop-In Class?

A Drop-in class is open to all students who meet the requirements of this level. Unlike a progressive series, you do not need to attend class consecutively to reap the benefits. This class will not build from week to week.

We do ask that each student have completed the prerequisite classes (Salsa 100) or get permission from the instructor to participate.

Pre-Registration for single drop-ins is not required, but it is encouraged.

If this is your first time visiting our studio, please make sure you arrive at least 15 minutes before the class is scheduled to begin in order to fill out your registration paperwork and get checked in.

Shoe Policy

Just like any other sport, you need the right equipment for the best results. If this is your first class, we do not require you to wear dance shoes, but we highly recommend it.

Dance shoes not only provide great comfort and flexibility for your feet, they also protect your knees and ankles from injury.

If you choose to continue your dance education, you will need and want to purchase a pair.

For your convenience, dance shoes can be purchased at the Mambo Room. We offer top quality dance heels, mens shoes and also practical practice shoes.
